Tobye Ostrow is the Educational Supervisor for grades 5-7 at Aaron School. This is her third year in the position and her sixth year at Aaron School. Her role as supervisor includes working with students, families, and teachers to ensure that all students’ reach their full potential. She takes part in curricula development, training and supporting teachers in school wide programs, coordinating the team of professionals that work with each student, and communicating with families on a regular basis. Tobye is so happy to be a part of the Aaron School family. She values the strong sense of community at Aaron and appreciates how unique this truly is!

Before working at Aaron School, Tobye graduated from Indiana University with her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. Originally from St. Louis, she then moved to Manhattan and received her M.A. from Teachers College- Columbia University in Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis. She is a New York State certified teacher in general and special education. Upon completing school, Tobye was the head teacher at an ABA preschool in Yonkers in both self-contained and integrated classrooms. This experience shaped the type of teacher Tobye is today. She believes in the principals of positive reinforcement and understands the importance of teaching both academic and social skills with tactics that support this ideology. While searching for a school that fostered Tobye’s philosophy, she found Aaron School. She was a head teacher for 3rd grade her first year, then taught 4th grade for 2 years before becoming Educational Supervisor. Tobye also has been Aaron School’s Camp Green Tree Director for the past 3 years. Directing the summer program has allowed her to build relationships with many more students and she has enjoyed it immensely!

Outside of school, Tobye enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to explore New York City, run in Central Park, try new restaurants, and listen to music.
