Wii Love to Play!

  |   Aaron School, Elementary School, Middle School, Special Programs, Technology

At Aaron School 45th Street, “Wii Love to Play” is a weekly after-school program taught by the Physical Education teachers. The program is available to students in 2nd through 7th grade and modified to meet the needs of all students. These after-school sessions allow the students to explore their inner creativity through the use of interactive gaming systems!

In their sneakers, the students show off their awesome moves during rhythmic activities such as Zumba, Country Line Dancing, and Just Dance! Wii Sports is a great way to engage the students and assist them with learning the rules, scoring, positions, and strategies used in sports such as bowling, baseball, tennis and boxing. While playing golf, the students learn when to use each club (for example driver, iron, wedge, and putter) and what the par of a hole is. Also, Mario Kart is a big hit, and the students are always reminded to keep their eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel!

While having tons of fun and showing off their skills, students are working to improve all components of their fitness! Teamwork and good sportsmanship are always encouraged, and accepting the outcome of the game is an important goal. The students strive to do their best, and improve their skills each week.
